ESAME Anti - Trypanosoma cruzi Metodo ICT
|

|
La tripanosomiasi americana (o malattia di Chagas) è causata dal Trypanosoma cruzi e solo nelle Americhe costituisce un importante problema di sanità pubblica, in particolare nell'America Centrale e Meridionale. La trasmissione del parassita avviene attraverso la puntura di cimici triatomine ematofaghe di diversi generi (per esempio, Rhodnius prolixus, Triatoma infestans); gli stadi infettivi si trovano nelle feci della cimice i quali vengono depositati sulla pelle umana al momento del pasto. La trasmissione può essere anche congenita o avvenire per trasfusione di sangue infetto o per trapianto di tessuti. La fase acuta dell'infezione può essere asintomatica ed è seguita per un lungo periodo da una fase cronica che può o non può essere sintomatica. Gli anticorpi possono comparire nella prima settimana di infezione e raggiungere livelli elevati. Un parassita correlato, il Trypanosoma rangeli, è presente in Sud America, ma nell'ospite umano apparentemente non è causa di patogenicità. E' anch’esso trasmesso da cimici triatomine; tuttavia, questa infezione è trasmessa con la saliva della cimice infetta al momento della puntura mentre per il T.cruzi la trasmissione è di tipo contaminativa. Nel nostro laboratorio si rilevano gli anticorpi anti-T.cruzi con due metodi ELISA e un metodo ICT (metodo immunocromatografico). I due metodi in ELISA utilazzano rispettivamente un'antigene lisato "AgLis" (rilevamento di IgG) e uno ricombinante "AgRic" (rilevamento di IgM ed IgG).
