THE PLEASURE OF TRAVELLING Travel is, first and foremost, a necessity.
And this necessity to find out about the world was sparked off when people became aware of their function in a world full of other people, both near and far, who had different customs.
Travel became an essential tool for acquiring knowledge and personal enrichment and it has been the greatest driving force behind progress. Then there came pleasure, when the decision to travel was the result of material and moral freedom and a rational choice combined with excitement, which almost always conditions the nature of travel. It is the pleasure of coming info contact with something new, beautiful, interesting, imaginable, but also unimaginable. It is the pleasure of discovering new environments, a natural world that is unfamiliar and always varied, the places that a people have constructed over the centuries to meet their own private and public needs. But it is also the pleasure of meeting other people, interfacing with them, finding out about them. understanding their a customs and activities to build together a better life and better tools for life and living. Pleasure is also preparing for a journey, studying and gathering information before departure, in accordance with personal feelings and aspirations. Travel can also mean a feeling of peace, the utmost pleasure.
Because of this travel must be real, it cannot be substituted by virtual journeys.
